As anticipated, this is no longer required for the latest version of QuickCursor, which updated itself to add the bundle identifier for iA Writer, who previously added their own support for QuickCursor a while ago. This post is now for those not running the lastest versions, for whatever reason.

One fateful day, Console stopped launching. It appeared to be in connection with one of the 10.8 developer preview releases, but the connection was hazy at best. While playing with the Server app for OS X 10.8, I had a lot of trouble with internal exceptions. It seemed to continue to function when you chose to ignore the exception (yikes), but at least it was useable.
